Olivier ten Hoopen 1963-1983

I found this small memorial in the crypt of the Pieterskerk in Utrecht, Netherlands.
There are many small boxes there which presumably contain the ashes of the deceased. – like a kind of remembrance garden. One of them is for a young man who died in 1983.


The world has forgotten him. I wonder who he was.

Wees gegroet, vol van genade

Hail, full of grace

“De engel zei tegen Maria: ‘Wees gegroet, vol van genade. De Heer is met jou. Jij bent gezegend onder de vrouwen.’”
“The angel said to Mary: ‘Hail, full of grace. The Lord is with you. You are blessed among women.’”

De Onbevlekte Ontvangenis gaat over Maria, niet over Jezus.
The Immaculate Conception is about Mary, not about Jesus.

Dit betekent dat Maria, vanaf het begin van haar leven, geen erfzonde had.
This means that from the beginning of her life (in the womb) , Mary had no original sin.

Dit is door Gods genade, zoals de engel zei: ‘Wees gegroet, vol van genade.’
This was by God’s grace, as the angel said: ‘Hail, full of grace.’

Veel mensen denken nog steeds dat het over Jezus gaat.
Many people still think it is about Jesus.
