Today I walked in the cemetery (a poem)

Today I walked in the cemetery.
I heard a voice:
Why do you seek the living among the dead?
I answered:
Because the dead accept me, without argument.
The living make so many demands,
unconditional love is something they never give.
The silence of the dead affirms me,
that’s why I remain standing here.

My mother’s love was unconditional.
And now she lies here, without judgment.
And how I hoped for love in a human robe,
but I found none.

And somehow, through the dead,
I feel that great Spirit,
without demands,
without words,
in silence,
affirming me.

zonder eisen,
zonder woorden,
in stilte,
die mij bevestigt.

Vrijdag is vrij – Vinzzent

Hier is een liedje voor vandaag

Poem: O loving Mother walk with me

O loving Mother walk with me
Across thy mountain way
Through the trees and thorny paths
From dawn to dusk each day

Help me heal my stubborn pride
Let my mind be still
Bind my own self righteousness
And let me do Thy will

When I err from Thy sweet path
The night comes dark and cold
Hold me in Thy mantle close
And Lead me to Thy fold

And when the storms and mists come down
With all their promised dreams
Keep me on the rugged road
However fair they seem

Teach me to love Thy footpath long
And those I chance to see
Let me follow and rejoice
And greet each one with glee

The Lamp of Hope – A poem

The Lamp of Hope

The lamp that lights all darkness
Is drawn from sorrows vein
Angels tend its lonely wick
To see its glow remain

Its rays spark soft and gentle
Its red bears many scars
Hang in the sky like ruby stones
Amidst the twinkling stars

The Angel's blessed scourges
Are brought to feed the flame
Tortures, sorrows, death and woes
Wash us in holy rain

The lamp can e'er be followed
Bright and most profound
Always lighting higher paths
Which lead to holy ground
